Yuzhmash regrets rumours about plant's alleged backing of Russia's nuclear potential

Yuzhmash (Pivdenmash, Dnipro) has expressed regret about rumours about its alleged involvement in supporting Russia's nuclear potential, in particular, production and servicing of Topol-M intercontinental ballistic missiles, the press service of the enterprise has reported.

"On July 3 a person who named himself a military expert appeared on Ukrainian TV and said that Yuzhmash, as the manufacturer of the Topol-M intercontinental ballistic missiles, biannually carries out maintenance and that the enterprise sent 14 intercontinental ballistic missiles to Russia in May 2017," the press service of Yuzhmash said.

The press service said that Yuzhmash is not the manufacturer of Topol-M intercontinental ballistic missiles. The enterprise has not produced any strategic missiles since Indepdence and has no missiles in stock.

"The information that Yuzhmash transferred intercontinental ballistic missiles is untrue," the enterprise said.
