NBU operates stably, NDU, Clearing Center stop servicing clients

The electronic infrastructure of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) is operating as usual, despite the huge cyber-attack many Ukrainian banks and companies suffered on Tuesday, the central bank has said on its Facebook page.

"The electronic payment system used by banks and the internal computer network of the NBU [are operating normally]," the bank said.

The NBU said that now computers are being scanned for viruses.

The National Depository of Ukraine (NDU) reported on its website that it is temporarily not servicing clients.

"You will be notified about the resumption of services at a later date," the NDU said.

Market players told Interfax-Ukraine that the Clearing Center for Servicing Agreements on the Financial Markets (Kyiv) also stopped operating. The clearing center is a monopolist in settling payments on securities.

The Perspectiva exchange's website is also down.

Ukrainian Exchange and PFTS stock exchange operated as usual on Tuesday.
