The debt of households to public joint-stock company Kyivenergo for heating and hot water as of June 1, 2017 totaled UAH 1.6 billion, the press service of the company reported on Monday.

The press service said that UAH 1.1 billion of it is a debt for heating and UAH 500 million for hot running water.

In addition, the debt of housing management companies for heating and hot water is UAH 800 million, that of budget-sustained institutions – UAH 80 million, and the debt of the national budget for compensation of benefits and subsidies reached UAH 1.1 billion.

Kyivenergo does not have any other financial sources to pay the debt for consumed gas apart from payments by consumers. No financial discipline puts the company's operations under a threat. The funds paid by the clients are sent to special accounts, and the money are automatically used to pay for gas and its transportation," the company said.

On June 19 Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities Services Hennadiy Zubko said that the debt of Ukrainian households for heating services as of June 1, 2017 totaled UAH 3.8 billion, and 25% of which were formed consumers of public joint-stock company Kyivenergo.
