EU Council publishes resolution extending Crimea-related sanctions against Russia The resolution of the Council of the EU dated June 19, which extends sanctions against Russia until June 23, 2018, in connection with the 'illegal annexation' of Crimea and Sevastopol, was published in the Official Journal of the European Union on Tuesday. According to the document, the resolution will take effect the day after it is published by the Official Journal of the European Union. This category of sanctions includes prohibitions on imports of products originating in Crimea or Sevastopol into the EU, investment in Crimea or Sevastopol, tourism services in Crimea or Sevastopol, and exports of certain goods and technologies to Crimean companies or for use in Crimea in the transport, telecommunications and energy sectors and related to the prospection, exploration and production of oil, gas and mineral resources.
