DTEK records attempts to illegally sell coal from uncontrolled area to Turkey and Spain

DTEK energy holding has recorded the attempts to illegally sell coal from the mines located in the temporarily uncontrolled territories of Ukraine to Turkey and Spain, acting CEO of DTEK Energy Dmytro Sakharuk has said.

"What we see is they are trying to supply about 50,000 tonnes of anthracite a month to Turkey. They are also loading a vessel with 30,000 tonnes for Spain," he told journalists in Kyiv.

Sakharuk stressed DTEK had already informed the Turkish and Spanish sides about the consequences of buying such counterfeit resources.

At the same time, according to the holding, coal from the temporarily uncontrolled territories is sold at a discount of 30-50%.

According to the expert, the mines belonging to the holding and captured by the militants could potentially this year produce about 5 million tonnes of anthracite, which they will try to sell abroad.

As reported, DTEK previously warned all potential customers of anthracite of the illegality of acquiring such fuel from the temporarily uncontrolled territories.
