NCER to increase Ukrenergo's tariff by 12.2% from April

The National Commission for Energy, Housing and Utilities Services Regulation (NCER) from April 1, 2017 will increase the tariff of national energy company Ukrenergo by 12.2% compared to the current tariff, from 6.178 kopecks per kWh to 6.933 per kWh (VAT not included).

According to the decision made on Tuesday, in the second quarter of 2017 the tariff the tariff of Ukrenergo will grow by 43.5%, from 7.943 kopecks per kWH to 11.398 kopecks per kWh (VAT not included). The tariffs for the third and fourth quarters are left unchanged.

The revision of the tariff is linked with the fact that when it was approved in December 2016 the commission took into account payment of 30% of net profit for 2016 to the national budget, while the government obliged Ukrenergo to send 75% of net profit in the form of dividends.

Ukrenergo operates the trunk and interstate power grids, as well as carries out the centralized dispatching of the country's united energy system. The company is state-owned and managed by the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry.

The National Commission for Energy, Housing and Utilities Services Regulation regulates the activity of monopoly entities in the fields of energy, heating supply, central water supply and drainage, oil and gas industries, solid waste treatment, and implements state price and tariff setting policies in these sectors.
