Revenue of Kyiv city budget 22% up in 2016

Revenue of Kyiv city budget from taxes and duties in 2016 grew by 22.2% compared to 2015, to UAH 38.687 billion.

The data is outlined in a report on the execution of the 2016 budget published in the Khreschatyk newspaper on February 24, 2017.

According to the report, revenue increased thanks to changes to the budget and tax legislation and improvement of tax administration in the city.

Revenue of the general fund was 2.5% more than the target for 2016 or UAH 34.128 billion and revenue of the special fund was 5.9% more than the target or UAH 4.559 billion.

The main source of replenishing the general fund of the budget is personal income tax – 45% or UAH 11.1 billion. Local taxes were 35% or UAH 8.7 billion and single tax – UAH 3.1 billion.

In turn, the key source of revenue of the special fund is contributions of constructors (UAH 563.1 million) and customs payments (UAH 597.3 million).

As reported, Kyiv City Council approved the city's budget for 2017 with revenues of UAH 38.238 billion and spending of UAH 38.239 billion. The surplus of the general fund is approved t UAH 7.188 billion. It will be rechanneled to the special fund.
