Private enforcement agents to appear in Ukraine after March – Justice ministry

Ukraine's Justice Ministry has said that private enforcement agents will appear in Ukraine after March.

"I think that in March a first examination could be passed. When would they start working? I say once again that after passing exams they are to prove that they have the insurance policy meeting all the requirements of Ukrainian law, their office is equipped and suits the ministry's requirements. That is all. They receive the certificates and are placed to the register," Deputy Justice Minister for Enforcement Serhiy Shkliar said at a briefing in Kyiv on Thursday.

He said that the register of private enforcement agents will be open. Each can verify if any person is a private enforcement agent, learn about the location of their offices and opening hours.

If a license of private enforcement agents is suspended or annulled, information about it will appear in the register.

Shkliar said that any Ukrainian citizen aged 25 and more with higher legal education, two years of practice, who was trained and passed exams, can become a private enforcement agent.
