Average tariff for primary care will be UAH 210 per patient a year, Deputy Health Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Kovtoniuk has said.

"Average tariff per person will be UAH 210 per year," he said at a press conference in Kyiv on Wednesday.

Kovtoniuk said that the sum is not the cost of a consultation. He said that payment for doctors of the primary tier will be formed taking into account the tariff multiplied by the number of patients they manage.

In addition, he said that Health Ministry plans to introduce multiplying coefficients for managing children and aged people.

The ministry plans to restrict the number of patients for one primary chain doctor to 2,000.

He said that at present, primary tier doctors service up to 2,000 patients a year.
