Poroshenko appoints Bohdan Danylyshyn, Vasyl Furman members of NBU Council

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has appointed former Economy Minister of Ukraine academician Bohdan Danylyshyn and President of Kyiv Institute of Banking Doctor of Economics Vasyl Furman members of the Council of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU).

"1. To appoint Bohdan Danylyshyn for the period of seven years and Vasyl Furman for the period of six years members of the Council of the National Bank of Ukraine," the president said in decree No. 470/2016 published on Monday on the website of the head of state.

By the same decree the president of Ukraine ordered invalidating Article 1 of similar decree No. 384 dated February 28, 2005, which appointed Director of the Institute for Economics and Forecasting of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Valeriy Heyets as member of the NBU council.

The decree also invalidated Article 1 of similar decree No. 545 of April 16, 2010, which appointed first deputy head of the presidential administration Iryna Akimova, advisor to the president Pavlo Haidutsky, head of the finance department at the Hetman Kyiv National Economic University Viktor Fedosov and presidential adviser Roman Shpek as members of the NBU council.

"This decree enters into force on the day of its publication," the document said.
