Ukraine in January-September 2016 reduced consumption of natural gas by 10% (by 2.305 billion cubic meters) compared to the same period in 2015, to 20.75 billion cubic meters.

According to the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry, in particular, industry consumed 6.531 billion cubic meters (19.2% down compared to January-September 2015), population and government organizations 7.828 billion cubic meters (6.6% less), heating companies 4.123 billion cubic meters (7% less), production and technological expenditure stood at 2.268 billion cubic meters (5.1% up).

As reported, Ukraine in 2015 reduced gas consumption by 20.9% (by 8.913 billion cubic meters) compared to 2014, to 33.727 billion cubic meters. In particular, industry reduced consumption by 19.2%, to 11.416 billion cubic meters, population and government organizations by 22.6%, to 12.178 billion cubic meters, heating companies by 19.2%, to 6.938 billion cubic meters, production and processing costs were down by 15.5%, to 3.196 billion cubic meters.
