State-run enterprise Antonov (Kyiv) has won litigation with Aviacor (Samara, Russia) in arbitration court of Samara region in the case to pay royalty for the use of the trademark for production and sales planes, the press service of Ilyashev & Partners Law Firm that represented the interests of the Ukrainian manufacturer in court has reported.

"Pursuant to the court judgment of July 4, 2016, the claims of the State Enterprise Antonov for more than $2.9 million were satisfied and shall be recovered in favor of our client," Senior Partner of Ilyashev & Partners Law Firm Roman Marchenko said.

Vladimir Zakharov, head of the Moscow office of Ilyashev & Partners Law Firm, who provided legal support of the case, said that due to lack of extensive practice of dealing with such disputes by the Russian courts, the struggle for proving the client’s case to the judges was rather long and complicated.

"The court session was closed as the subject matter of the proceedings was directly related to the commercial secrets of the parties to the case," he said.

As reported, Antonov filed the claim to court in August 2015.

Aviacor is the only aircraft building asset of Russian Machines. It produces, repairs and services aircraft of the Tu-154 and An-140 aircraft families.

Antonov is part of Ukroboronprom concern. It realizes the full cycle of aircraft creation – from designing to mass production and post-sale service.
