Hungary's economy lost $4 bln due to anti-Russian sanctions - ambassador in Kyiv

The Hungarian economy lost $4 bln due to the sanctions imposed against Russia, Hungarian Ambassador to Ukraine Erno Keskeny said.

"You must understand that we are displeased by these sanctions because they are detrimental to Hungary's economy, we suffer major losses. Our economy has already lost over $4 billion. Russia is currently our fourth economic partner in terms of goods turnover volume," he said in an exclusive interview with Interfax-Ukraine.

However, the ambassador noted that Hungary supports Ukraine, its sovereignty and territorial integrity and stands for the sanctions' extension.

"Hungary believes that the consensus in the EU is vital and the consensus was represented by support of the sanctions," he said.
