Six Ukrainian cities apply to host Eurovision 2017

Six cities expressed their willingness to host Eurovision 2017. Kyiv, Dnipro, Lviv, Odesa, Kharkiv and Kherson have sent their requests to the Ukrainian National Television Company, the press service of the UA: First National TV Channel has said.

"Applicant cities promptly collected and provided all the necessary documents and materials until July 8 to the Ukrainian National Television Company as an ordering customer, consequently all of them passed the first selection stage," the statement reads.

The second stage involves they working group of the Ukrainian National Television Company and representatives of the Organizing Committee, who will hold a preliminary examination of the requests so that to present them at the meeting of the Organizing Committee of Eurovision 2017 on July 21.

In addition, it is reported that on Wednesday, July 20, the whole of Ukraine will be able to see suggestions of city candidates at Battle of the Cities project, which will be released live on the UA: First National TV Channel and Ukrainian National Radio. The program will be attended by representatives of each of the candidate cities, experts, media representatives, musicians and Eurovision fans.

As reported, the National Television Company of Ukraine expressed gratitude to applicant cities for their "proactive position and desire to host the song contest along with prompt and thorough preparation of the necessary documents."
