Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has met with the leaders of the United States, Germany, UK, Canada, and the Netherlands on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Warsaw (Poland).

"The NATO summit is a good opportunity to meet with our allies and partners," press secretary of the Ukrainian President Sviatoslav Tseholko wrote on his Facebook page on Friday, noting that Ukraine remains the center of attention of world leaders.

He also posted on his Facebook page photos which show Poroshenko speaking with U.S. President Barack Obama, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, British Prime Ministers David Cameron, Canada's Premier Justin Trudeau, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte and others.

The preparations for tomorrow's meeting of G5 plus Ukraine and the NATO-Ukraine Commission continue, Tseholko said.

Earlier on Friday, Ukraine's Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin said that on July 8 on the sidelines of the NATO summit the president met with the leaders of the G5 countries (the U.S., Germany, France, the UK and Italy). "This was an informal meeting. There will be a formal meeting tomorrow immediately after the meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Commission," he added.
