Premier adjusts forecast for industrial production rise in 2016 to 1.2%

Rise in industrial production in Ukraine in 2016 will amount to no less than 1.2%, Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman forecasts.

"We expect by the end of the year we'll get at least 1.2% of growth in industrial production," he said at a meeting with industrialists in Kyiv.

As reported, with reference to the State Statistics Service, in January-April 2016 the growth in Ukraine's industry amounted to 3.7%.

In April this figure increased by 3.5% compared to the same month of 2015, while in March was at 4.8%, in February at 7.6%.

In April relative to March of this year industrial production fell by 3.4%, but taking into account the seasonal factor remained unchanged.

The service said the decline in January-April 2015 from January-April 2014 was 20.6%, while in general for the last year industrial production in Ukraine was down by 13.4%, in 2014 by 10.1%, in 2013 by 4.7%, and in 2012 by 0.5%.
