Cabinet action program for 2016 implies privatization of 345 state-run companies

The implementation of the government action program should result in the privatization of state-run enterprises, saving budget funds and improving the business climate, Deputy Head of the presidential administration Dmytro Shymkiv has said.

"The privatization list for 2016 has 345 state-owned companies," Shymkiv said at a press conference after a meeting of the National Reforms Council on Thursday.

The government also seeks to liquidate at least 50 hindrances for business, use "one face to the customer" approach, implement the Doing Business program, save up to 20% of total procurement sum or UAH 50 billion a year via the ProZorro system.

The government intends to continue decentralization and create up to 200 new territorial communities, backbone schools and increase local budgets to UAH 110 billion in 2016.

The reform of the State Fiscal Service and facilitation of the tax system, improvement of its transparency and administration would be conducted in the financial sphere.

First Deputy Economic Development and Trade Minister Yulia Kovaliv said that today's government program differs from the previous ones in the goals' feasibility for 10-12 months. The plans do not require provision of extra funds from the national budget.

She said that the government will also focus on stimulation of exports.
