Ukraine buys nuclear fuel worth $80.5 mln in Q1 2016

Ukraine in January-March 2016 bought fresh nuclear fuel for a total of $80.528 million.

According to the State Statistics Service, in Q1 2016 Ukrainian nuclear power plants (NPPs) purchased Russian fuel for $47.482 million, fuel from Sweden for $33.046 million.

The share of Russian TVEL fuel in money terms was 595 and that for Westinghouse fuel (Sweden) – 41%.

As reported, Ukraine in 2015 bought fresh nuclear fuel for a total of $643.57 million. Ukrainian NPPs purchased Russian fuel for $610.883 million, fuel from Sweden for $32.688 million.

Ukraine in 2014 bought fresh nuclear fuel for a total of $628.176 million.

Ukraine in 2013 purchased fresh nuclear fuel from Russia for $600.596 million.

Ukraine in 2012 purchased fresh nuclear fuel for a total of $600.334 million, in particular from Russia for $555.355 million, from Sweden for $44.979 million.

Energoatom is the operator of all four Ukrainian-based operating nuclear power plants, which have 15 VVER reactors with an overall generating capacity of 13.835 gigawatts.
