Ukraine's state budget sees UAH 4.85 bln deficit in Feb 2016
The deficit of the national budget of Ukraine in February 2016 was UAH 4.85 bln. The general fund stood at UAH 5.35 bln, while the surplus in January was equal to UAH 2.45 bln, and the general fund at UAH 1.7 bln.
According to the State Treasury Service, in the two months of this year the budget deficit amounted to UAH 2.4 bln on the general fund of UAH 3.65 bln. In January-February of last year the deficit of UAH 8.74 bln was recorded on the general fund UAH 9.96 bln.
At the same time, due to the continuing significant surplus of local budgets in January-February, the surplus of the consolidated budget totaled UAH 9.87 bln, the general fund UAH 8.04 bln, whereas in January-February of last year the deficit of the consolidated budget amounted to UAH 270 million.
According to the released data, the revenues of the 2016 national budget for the first two months increased in comparison with the first two months of last year by 17%, to UAH 70.59 bln, and the general fund by 17.4%, to UAH 66.34 bln.
The treasury said that revenue in January through February 2016 were 11.9% more than the target for the period, being 11.9% of the annual target. Revenue of the general fund was 14.2% more than the target and it was 11.8% of the annual target.
Budget expenditure decreased by 3.3%, to UAH 72.92 bln, while it increased by 1.6% for the general fund, to UAH 70.61 bln. The treasury said that the expenditure target for the first two months of this year was under-fulfilled by 18%.
The treasury said that National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) in January through February 2016 did not send funds to the budget, while by March 2015 the NBU sent UAH 5.45 bln.
The deficit of Ukraine's national budget in 2015 amounted to UAH 45.15 bln, in particular, in the general fund UAH 38.86 bln, whereas in 2014 the figures stood at UAH 72.03 bln and UAH 55.02 bln respectively
National budget revenue in 2015 amounted to UAH 534.65 bln with the target being UAH 532.11 bln, in particular in the general fund UAH 503.76 bln.
Expenditure in 2015 increased by 34.1%, to UAH 576.85 bln, including a rise of 46.7% on the previous year for the general fund, to UAH 544.63 bln.
