Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk has said that the World Bank would provide $200 million to finance construction of a road section in Poltava region.

"Last year the government provided UAH 250 million to Poltava region for road repair and construction. This year the budget foresees a two and a half times more sum – UAH 600 million, the premier said. Yatseniuk also said that it is planned to have financing of $200 million from the World Bank to build a large section of a road," the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine reported after a meeting of the prime minister with top managers of Poltava Regional Administration, heads of district administration and town mayors in Poltava on Saturday.

Yatseniuk asked Head of Poltava Regional Administration Valeriy Holovko to clearly define a plan where the funds for road repair will be sent.

The prime minister said that capital expenses this year cannot be invested into blueprints, but only into facilities that will be launched this year. A part of capital expenses are to be sent to road repair.

Yatseniuk said that the cabinet plans to distribute UAH 1 billion among 159 territorial communities which would be an incentive for communities to unite further.
