The Swedish government has decided to issue SEK1.5 million to Ukraine for reforms in the defense sector, Defense Minister of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak has stated.

"In addition, it should be noted that thanks to the Swedish inspectors last year 650 Ukrainians learned to provide emergency medical assistance," Poltorak said, following a meeting with Defense Minister of Sweden Peter Hultqvist and Lithuanian Minister of National Defense Juozas Olekas in Kyiv.

The Swedish minister of defense, in turn, stressed that the government of Sweden helps Ukraine not only in the reform of the Armed Forces, "we also have a number of joint programs in social and humanitarian spheres."
