Ukrainian parliament should pass structural reforms - IMF

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) is waiting that the Ukrainian parliament passes structural reforms, IMF Resident Representative in Ukraine Jerome Vacher has said.

"We focus on structural reforms. Ukraine is surviving a very difficult period, the second transitive period. We should see vigor of authorities, in particular, the parliament as the key active participant," he said during the panel discussion at the Ukrainian Crisis Media Center in Kyiv on Monday.

Vacher said that success in the macroeconomic stabilization is obvious, although success in administrative reforms, particularly, fight against corruption, is required.

"The problems of the financial sector should be resolved. We welcome the reforms of the NBU [National Bank of Ukraine] and urge other financial institutions follow the example of the central bank," he said.
