Rada to revoke licensing of foreign economic deals with alcohol, tobacco

The Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament, plans to revoke the licensing of exports and imports of spirit, alcohol and tobacco, and revoke financial sanctions for the non-submission of reports by companies trading in the abovementioned goods.

A total of 232 MPs supported draft law No. 2498a at first reading.

Presenting the draft law in the parliament, Economic Development and Trade Minister of Ukraine Aivaras Abromavicius said that the document revokes six absolutely useless licenses on foreign trade. He said that the licenses duplicate the licensing of production, wholesale, and retail trading with alcohol and tobacco.

He said that revenue received from the issue of licenses in 2014 totaled UAH 229,000 and salaries to employees who issued the licenses totaled UAH 200,000.
