Air traffic between Ukraine and Russia will be stopped from 00:00 on October 25, Ukraine's Minister of Infrastructure Andriy Pyvovarsky said on the sidelines of the Ukrainian-German Business Forum in Berlin.

"Technical consultations between the State Aviation Service of Ukraine and the Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsia) have been held in Brussels today, but in spite of these consultations the sanctions imposed on Russian airlines that violated the laws of Ukraine will come into force from October 25," he said.

The minister also said that the Russian Federal Air Transport Agency subsequently imposed sanctions on Ukrainian airlines in response

The press service of the Infrastructure Ministry clarified that the technical consultations had been held at the headquarters of the European Commission from 14:00 to 15:30 CET on October 23. The Ukrainian delegation included Acting Chairman of the State Aviation Service Eduard Diomin, UkSATSE Director Dmytro Babeichuk, and Director of the EU Department at Ukraine's Foreign Minister Vsevolod Chentsov.

"During the technical consultations the sides exchanged their positions. After returning, the Ukrainian delegation will give the information received to the minister of infrastructure and the country leadership. Decisions on further steps will be made on their basis," the ministry said in a press release.
