Nestle, one of the world's largest food producers, will invest about UAH 100 million in development in Ukraine in 2015.

"We plan in 2015 to spend a little more than UAH 100 million on the installation of a production line at Torchyn factory [and we will] expand our workshops at Svitoch. We've also installed new equipment for air conditioning at the distribution center in Smolyhiv," Nestle Director for Ukraine and Moldova Ansgar Bornemann said in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine.

According to him, in 2014 Nestle's total sales in Ukraine amounted to about UAH 5.7 billion.

"For us sales are stable in general, which is the result of the fantastic work of all our employees. It is a great challenge for my company, because we see there is some downturn in some categories. We are working hard on the ways to maintain our market share. We are even growing in some categories," he said.

According to Bornemann, the company felt a significant drop in the confectionery segment.

He added that the Nestle confectionery products and canned vegetables in Ukraine were affected by Russian sanctions.
