Evrotek Group (Lviv), which develops several retail chains in Ukraine, has invested over UAH 10 million in the launch of its new class A logistics center with a gross area of over 11,500 square meters in Brovary (Kyiv region), the group said in a press release.

"Our logistics center has been reformatted to all modern methods of processing goods. This allows our company and all our suppliers and partners to clearly plan orders and quickly deliver goods to all supermarkets," the report said, citing Group Director for goods stocks management Ivan Ladny.

He said that after the launch of the logistic center Evrotek also plans to re-launch its three other regional warehouses.

As reported, in February 2014, Evrotek launched the first phase of the logistics center with a gross area of 3,400 square meters and it planned to launch the second phase with a gross area of 7,000 square meters two months later.

Mykhailo Veselsky founded Evrotek in 1995. At first, the company sold grain and sunflower seeds and supplied fuel to farmers, however in 2003 the company started producing sunflower oil and in three years it occupied 15% of the Ukrainian market, with annual sales worth $95 million. In 2006, Veselsky sold the business to Kernel Group and invested the funds in the creation of the new Fresh retail chain. The shareholders in the company were the International Finance Corporation (IFC) jointly with Horizon Capital's Emerging Europe Growth Fund (17.5% each) and Veselsky with a 64% stake.

Evrotek Group is presently developing five multi-format retail stores chains - Fresh, Arsen, Soyuz, Kvartal and Fresh-market.
