Around 20 travel agencies, which were part of the Hot Tours network that went out of business, have joined the TUI Tour Agency network, TUI Ukraine Director General Volodymyr Schupak has said.

"Around two dozens of agencies joined the TUI Tour Agency network. Negotiations are being held with other agencies, as they are to comply with the network's standards," he told Interfax-Ukraine.

Schupak said that travel agencies booked tours using own funds for most of the tourists who bought tours via the Hot Tours network.

"Thus, many travel agencies suffered, and their owners and managers had to pawn their cars, apartments, etc to send client for vacation. Nevertheless, the head office of the network has not been declared bankrupt," he said.

The Hot Tours network, which included over 100 agencies all over Ukraine and was one of the largest networks in the country, suspended its operation in early June.

The tourism market operators said that from 3,000 to 5,000 tourists suffered from the suspension of the operation of the network, which tours were booked by the network's agencies and not paid by the Hot Tours head office.

At present, a claim from Anex Tour LLC against Hot Tours agencies network LLC worth UAH 6.242 million for the unpaid tours has been submitted to the business court of Kyiv.

According to unofficial information, the debt of the Hot Tours head office could be from $500,000 to $1 million. Tourism market operators in Ukraine link the suspension of the network's operation and non-payments in Ukraine with its transfer to the Russian market.
