Donetsk region head promises to create favorable conditions for developing SME in region

Head of Donetsk Regional Military-Civilian Administration Pavlo Zhebrivsky has promised to create favorable conditions for the development of small and medium sized enterprises (SME) in the region as soon as possible.

"I guarantee that none of your issues would be left without attention," he said while addressing businessmen at a meeting in Krasnoarmiysk on Thursday, where problematic economic issues in the districts located along the contact line were discussed, the press service of the Donetsk Regional Military-Civilian Administration has reported.

He pointed out the tasks the authority faces in making the lives of citizens easier and preventing uncontrolled goods turnover in the occupied territories.

"The contact line crossing procedure has not yet been settled. We've drawn up [our] own proposals and handed them to the Anti-terrorist Center. However in the front line zone many things are to be regulated manually. We're ready for this," he said.

Regional authorities said that the most urgent issues for businessmen in Donetsk region are agricultural issues. Businessmen complained about the absence of support from Agrarian Fund and the unwillingness of banks to credit farmers in the front line zone.

Zhebrivsky promised to address Agrarian Fund and ask it to foresee top-priority forward purchases for farmers in Donetsk region and consider the possibility of introducing partial insurance compensation for businesspeople who took losses due to the ongoing hostilities.

"It’s fair that farmers could have benefits in paying land tax," he said.

Deputy Head of Donetsk Regional Military-Civilian Administration Yevhen Vilinksy called on district and town heads to submit proposals on the restoration and development of infrastructure projects.

"We're preparing a package of proposals which will be sent to our governmental structures and international financial organizations," he said.
