Ukraine imports 4 times more gas from EU than from Russia in April
Ukraine in April 2015 imported 1.2 billion cubic meters of gas from the EU, while imports from the Russian Federation were 300 million cubic meters, the press service of PJSC Ukrtransgaz has said.
According to live data from the company's central dispatcher department, as a whole gas imports in April 2015 amounted to 1.473 billion cubic meters, in particular from Europe - 1.178 billion cubic meters, from Russia - 295 million cubic meters.
Imports from Slovakia amounted to 1.138 billion cubic meters, Poland - 34 million cubic meters, Hungary - 6 million cubic meters.
In general, in January-April 2015 gas imports to Ukraine amounted to 7.244 billion cubic meters, which is 17.2% less than in the same period in 2014.
Imports from Slovakia for the four months of the year came to 4.386 billion cubic meters, Hungary - 345 million cubic meters, Poland - 62 million cubic meters, the Russian Federation - 2.451 billion cubic meters.
Ukrtransgaz noted that gas imports from Europe in January-April 2015 amounted to 4.8 billion cubic meters, which almost corresponds to the volume of gas supplies from Europe for the entire year of 2014 (5 billion cubic meters).
