The deputy head of the Ukrainian presidential administration, Valeriy Chaly, visited Washington, where he met with members of the U.S. administration and non-governmental organizations.

The situation in Ukraine was high on the agenda of Chaly's meetings with U.S. Undersecretary of State for Arms Control Rose Gottemoeller, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State in the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs Paul Jones and the State Department's Coordinator for Sanctions Policy Ambassador Daniel Fried, the press service of the Ukrainian presidential administration reported.

At these talks, Chaly reaffirmed the crucial role Washington has been playing in maintaining Trans-Atlantic unity and solidarity with Ukraine, the press service said.

Chaly's meetings with Senior Director for Europe at the U.S. National Security Council Charles Kupchan, U.S. Special Advisor to the Vice President for Europe and Eurasia Michael Carpenter and Senior Director for International Economics at the U.S. National Security Council Rory MacFarquhar addressed Ukraine-U.S. relations and mechanisms for Washington's financial and defense assistance for Kyiv.
