NCER cuts tariffs for power plants by 13-15%

The National Commission of Ukraine for Energy and Housing and Utilities Services Regulation (NCER) has reduced electricity sale tariffs for combined heat and power plants (CHPP) by an average of 13-15%.

The state regulator made the decision to revise tariffs at a meeting on March 31.

The main reason for reducing electricity and thermal energy tariffs for CHPPs is related to the decrease from April 1 of the ceiling gas price for industrial consumers and budgetary institutions by 19.1%, from UAH 8,900 to UAH 7,200 per 1,000 cubic meters (excluding VAT, tariffs for transportation, distribution and supply).

The weighted average rate of UAH 21.77 per $1 will be used for CHPPs, importing coal, for tariff recalculation.
