Ukraine General Staff: Fourth wave of Ukraine's partial mobilization 76% complete

The fourth wave of partial mobilization in Ukraine is 76% complete in terms of conscription and 50% complete in terms of vehicle acquisition, acting spokesman for the Ukrainian Armed Forces General Staff Vladyslav Selezniov said.

"The fourth wave of partial mobilization is ongoing pursuant to the January 14 decree of the president. More than 76% of the reserve servicemen subject to mobilization in the special period have been mobilized by now," he said at a press briefing in Kyiv on Friday.

One in eight servicemen mobilized in the fourth wave is a volunteer. Vehicle mobilization plans are 50% complete, Selezniov added.

"Importantly, all servicemen mobilized in the fourth wave of partial mobilization have been coached at training centers, ranges and education establishments. They are refreshing their military occupation skills in fire exercises and driving of various types of military vehicles. Once the training is over, the servicemen will be attached to military units for a week of two of combat cohesion," the spokesman said.

In his words, the mobilization plan has been fulfilled best in the Vinnytsia, Khmelnytsky, Cherkassy, Poltava, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Rivne, Zhytomyr, Kirovohrad, Ivano-Frankivsk and Lviv regions and Kyiv

Meanwhile, demobilization of servicemen drafted in spring-summer 2014 continues in Ukraine. "Demobilized servicemen are going home. They are receiving benefits, ranks, a special status, material allowances and medical treatment guaranteed by the legislation," Selezniov said.

Over 16,000 servicemen and employees of the Ukrainian Armed Forces have been granted the combatant status for taking part in the Donbas hostilities, he said.
