Ukraine resumes Polish gas supply from Feb 21

Ukraine resumed natural gas supply from Poland on February 21, importing about 0.8 million cubic meters, according to Polish gas pipeline operator Gaz-System.

Furthermore, according to the operators of the Slovak and Hungarian gas transport systems, Eustream and FGSZ respectively, on February 21 Ukraine imported 38.1 million cubic meters of gas from Slovakia and 5.8 million cubic meters from Hungary. The amount of gas shipped from Hungary on February 21 was the highest recorded figure so far this year.

As reported, Ukraine suspended gas imports from Poland on January 1, 2-15. On February 12, 0.11 million cubic meters of gas was supplied from Poland; shipments were subsequently suspended until February 21.

Ukraine imported almost 1.1 billion cubic meters of natural gas from Europe in January 2015, including 1.004 billion cubic meters of gas from Slovakia, and 63 million cubic meters of gas from Hungary.

Overall, in 2014 Ukraine imported 19.466 billion cubic meters of gas from Russia and Europe worth $5.695 billion, including 5.016 billion cubic meters worth $1.755 billion from Europe and 14.450 billion cubic meters worth $3.940 billion from Russia.
