Economy ministry plans to sign framework agreement with Germany's KfW on EUR 500 mln loan to restore Donbas

The Economic Development and Trade Ministry of Ukraine plans to sign a framework agreement with Germany's KfW during a meeting of the Ukrainian-German high-level group for economic cooperation, scheduled for the second half of March or early April 2015, which is to be held in Kyiv.

The Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities Economy Ministry has reported that Vice Prime Minister and head of the Ukrainian section of the Ukrainian-German group Hennadiy Zubko announced this, after a meeting with German Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development Gerd Muller on February 3.

"The projects will be selected by a joint working group that will work as a part of the Ukrainian-German high-level group," Zubko said.

He said that the singing of the framework agreement between the Economic Development and Trade Ministry and KfW is the next step in implementing the joint statement of the Ukrainian and German governments on providing credit guarantees to the restore destroyed infrastructure in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions.
