Agriculture Ministry has no plans to restrict grain exports

Ukraine's Ministry of Agricultural Policy and Food does not intend to impose any restrictions on grain exports in the near future.

"I heard about it for the first time. We have a basic memorandum that every year we sign with associations. We look at balances, coordinate reserves. Nobody limits anything," Minister Oleksiy Pavlenko told reporters in Kyiv.

According to him, a memorandum with grain traders has not been signed.

As reported, media outlets reported a possible restriction on exports of Ukrainian wheat.

According to the ministry, grain exports from Ukraine since the beginning of the current marketing year (July-June) and as of January 20, 2015 amounted to 20.76 million tonnes, including 8.5 million tonnes of wheat, nearly 8.3 million tonnes of maize, and 3.75 million tonnes of barley.
