Consumers' debt to Naftogaz is about UAH 40 bln - CEO

Consumers' debt to National joint-stock company Naftogaz Ukrainy for consumed gas is about UAH 40 billion, company CEO Andriy Kobolev has said at a Cabinet meeting.

"It [the level of consumers' debt to Naftogaz] is about UAH 40 billion, UAH 20 billion of which is the debt of heating enterprises," he said.

According to Kobolev, the financial state of the company was significantly influenced by the devaluation of the hryvnia.

"It influenced [the company's financial state] greatly, the difference is very large in the financial plan - it [the loss from the devaluation of the hryvnia] exceeds UAH 9 billion," he said.

As reported, Naftogaz Ukrainy brings together the largest oil and gas companies of the country. The holding is a monopoly on the transit and storage of natural gas in underground gas storage facilities, as well as oil transportation through pipelines across the country.
