Yanair airline launches Kyiv-Tbilisi flight

Yanair airline has launched a regular flight to Tbilisi from Kyiv Zhuliany International Airport.

Airline Director General Yaroslav Ahafonov told reporters on Tuesday that the flights will be performed three times a week with the possible reduction of the frequency of flights in winter.

Ahafonov said that Boeing-737 will be used to perform the flights. The company expects to receive the plane in the next few days.

"The Georgian direction today is in great demand. We're operating a flight to Batumi, which is loaded well. We expect that the flight to Tbilisi will be loaded too," he said.

Ahafonov said that the Kyiv-Tbilisi flights would be performed using a route bypassing Russia.

"The route increases time to get to the destination by 20 minutes and worsens the efficiency of the flight, but this does not affect the price of tickets," he said.

Yanair was registered in Zhytomyr on June 15, 2012. In July 2013 it received the certificate for operations.

The airline is based at Kyiv Zhuliany International Airport.

In July 2013, the airline received the certificate. The airline flies to Odesa and Batumi. It also performs charter flights to resorts.

At present, the company’s fleet consists of two Saab 340 planes and Airbus A320 plane. In August 2014, Yanair will receive Boeing-737.
