Ukraine expects to start receiving considerable financial resources starting from May, Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk said at a news conference on Friday.

"If we pass the entire legislative basis, then the decision to restore a new cooperation program with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) will be made by late April. Considerable volumes of resources could come to Ukraine starting in the first ten days of May. We expect that we will receive the first tranches from different institutions - approximately $3 billion - within two months in order to stabilize the economy," Yatseniuk said.

The total volume of expected credit resources will amount in 2014 to around $13.5 billion, the prime minister said.

The government will send draft laws, which are to be passed to continue cooperation with the IMF, to the parliament to consider next week, Yatseniuk said.
