Deficit of Ukraine's balance of payments 10.5 times down in September, says NBU

The deficit of Ukraine's balance of payments in September 2013 fell by 10.5 times year-over-year, and compared with August 2013 it fell by 2.2 times, to $105 million, the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has said in a posting on its Web site.

The central bank said that the surplus of the balance of payment in January-September 2013 came to $1.546 billion, while year-over-year a deficit of $798 million was seen.

The bank said that the deficit of the current account in September 2013 stood at $2.012 billion, which is 73.9% up on September 2012, and 29.6% up on August 2013.

The deficit of the current account in January-September 2013 grew to $10.218 billion, which is 7% up year-over-year.

The surplus of transactions with the capital and financial accounts in September reached $1.907 billion, which is 35.3 times up year-over-year and 44.4% up on August 2013.

The total surplus of transactions with the capital and financial accounts in January-September 2013 exceeded the last year indicator by 34.4%, reaching $11.764 billion.
